Foam Boat
Directions: cut foam pieces to 7" long or so (see notes...and picture); double wrap 30" or yarn around each end and tie tightly; use knife or scissors to score "sails"; stick a straw through and then into the foam; you can decorate the sails - foam stickers work great!
Supplies: foam (pool noodles can work, I bought 1 3/4" diameter 1/2" center hole foam from Home Depot for wrapping around pipes as insulation - it was cheap!); serrated knife; yarn; scissors; foam rectangles (4"X6" is what I used); straws; optional foam stickers and/or markers
Notes:the foam cuts so easily that I had a cutting board with a line on it and let the kids cut the foam; I let them measure and cut the yarn also; I did this craft with a K-5th class I had doing the voyages of Paul, so older kids were able to help younger ones, otherwise I would have done more of the cutting and so on ahead of time
