BeeLieve Kazoo
various
Directions: download pdf below; copy (there are 2 per page); kids color and cut out; staple at base of wings (I drew a little picture on it to show where); take toilet paper tube and wrap a generous square of wax paper around the end, smoothing out the wrinkles as best you can, and securing it with a rubber band; punch a hole towards the other end as far as you can reach in (hole is optional); slide bee over kazoo; say "doh" into kazoo until you get it working, and then could try "buzzzzz" or other sounds - it should sound a bit "buzzy" with the wax paper
Supplies: paper; crayons; scissors; stapler; toilet paper rolls; wax paper; rubber bands; hole punch (optional)
Notes:getting the kazoo to sound can be a bit tricky - having the wax paper smooth and fairly tight seems to be really important, but singing more loudly into it can help also; you could do the bee and tube without the kazoo part for a simpler craft!
