Mother's Day Hand Flower
....
Directions: download pdf below; copy "leaves" onto green paper and hearts onto yellow or maybe pink; cut other colored paper in half and kids trace a hand and cut it out; kids cut out hearts and leaves (2 hearts per kid, kids write name on the blank on the other side of the leaf); tape or glue hearts to the hand (1 on each side); tape a green pipe cleaner to the hand OR punch a hole, thread the pipe cleaner through, and then tape it to the hand; tape the leaves to the pipe cleaner, fold in half, and tape leaves shut
Supplies: paper; pencils; scissors; tape/glue; green pipe cleaners; optional hole punch
Notes:my example is a bit floppy (and big, since I used my own hand), so I may let the kids twist 2 pipe cleaners together to make the stem stronger; kids may want to make more than one (if there's time)
