Exodus Unfold the Square Craft
Exodus 14
Directions: download pdf below; copy the first page onto orange, yellow, or tan paper; copy the second page onto blue paper; cut off the edges and then cut in half on the line (a paper cutter works great for this one); kids color; crease the dotted lines and then assemble (see "notes" below) and staple together; now the kids can use it to tell the story (following the numbers and arrows)
Supplies: orange/yellow/tan paper; blue paper; scissors or paper cutter; crayons; stapler
Notes:explaining how to assemble this gets tricky, but our teens managed it, so it's doable, and I have a nice picture down there showing how to use it to tell the story, so you can work it backwards using that, if it's easier:
1) lay down orange memory verse part, face down
2) blue fish part goes on top of that, also face down
3) the blue drowning Egyptians bit, face down, upside down, and sticking out the top (you can see it in the picture)
4) last is orange "path", right side up and hanging down
NOTE: all 4 pieces have a staple mark on them that will help with lining it up!
Once it's stapled:
1) fold the blue drowning bit backwards over the back
2) "accordion fold" the orange path part up
3) close the blue flap with the "4" on it and then blue flap with "3"
4) close the orange flap with the "2" on it and last the "1" flap
If you've done it right, you'll have a nice square package, and following the numbers and arrows will tell the story!
